Ibrahima Konaté to Leave Liverpool on Free Transfer

Ibrahima Konaté's situation at Liverpool has taken an unexpected turn. The French central defender, whose contract is set to expire, had appeared close to a renewal earlier this year when he expressed a desire to remain at the club. "There is a great possibility that I will continue here next season. That is what I have always wanted," Konaté stated in April, even suggesting that a contract was nearly signed.
